Recreational activities aim to structure the days of residents and reduce the tensions inherent in them by occupying them constructively. This also reduces the risk of developing symptoms of depression. Apart from having an occupational function, recreational inmate activities serve to improve the physical and mental well-being of old age people.
These activities are often conducted in groups and can therefore play a positive role in the socialisation of senior citizen residents and also foster their contacts with each other. In order to have an effective contribution, residents are encouraged rather than compelled to participate in them.
The major highlight of Moksha Old Age home is that here inmates or residents live like a family. Like a family, they care and become helping hands for each other. The resident who feels better after taking medical care helps his/her other inmate in daily chores.
